Ungaran Mountain in Semarang Regency, Central Java Province


It is, without a doubt, Ungaran Mountain becomes one of the best tourist attractions in Semarang Regency. Even though it is a kind of volcano, there is no sign of volcanic activity there. There is the tomb of Dasamuka located beneath the mountain! He was buried alive by Hanoman due to the bad behaviors. It is also said Hanoman lives in a nearby mountain called Telomoyo in order to watch Dasamuka over time. He is afraid that such monster might revive suddenly. The next allure is none other than the panorama. For the information, the mountain comes with 3 fabulous peaks! The tallest one is indeed Ungaran Peak. Located in the slope of the mountain, tourists may find a well-known archeological site called Gedong Songo Temple. Somehow, it becomes the signature tourist attraction there.
