It is because the site becomes quite crowded during weekends and holidays.

Another reason for visiting Umbul Sigedang is to learn history. It is said the ponds once became a bathing place for royal princesses! The price is cheap and the snacks vary! The site closes at 5 pm, though, so everyone must finish the activity before it.

How to Get There
It is considered easy to reach Umbul Sigedang, as long as tourists have arrived in Klaten Regency. From Semarang City, in this case, they can take Semarang – Solo Highway and reach Klaten directly. This trip usually takes around 1 hour and 33 minutes, as the distance is 97.7 km. Well, for those coming from Jakarta City, they can simply take Cikopo – Palimanan Highway and reach Klaten right away. The distance is 532 km, so the trip would take around 7 hours and 59 minutes. Later, once arriving at Klaten Regency, the next destination would be Ponggok Village where Umbul Sigedang resides. For the information, the best route to take is Ngaran – Sajen Street and the distance is 22.6 km. Thus, this trip would take around 39 minutes.
