Jatikerep Hill in Jepara Regency, Central Java Province

The presence of Karimunjawa Island makes Jepara Regency more famous among both local tourists and outsiders. It is true Karimunjawa is known for its marine beauty, but it also has other attractions including hills. For instance, there is Jatikerep Hill! It resides in Kasimo Street and has become a good spot for sightseeing and witnessing the beautiful sunset in the afternoon. Moreover, the popularity is the same as other nearby hills like Joko Tuwo and Love Hill! Plus, the location is near local villages, so tourists may meet many villagers both while heading or exploring the hill later.

The Nuance
The nuance is similar to other hills, but Jatikerep offers better facilities. It is because the local government has built a comfy route and several viewing posts to accommodate tourists. The fact is motorcycles are able to reach the top of the hill easily! That means tourists can park up there and avoid the tiredness of trekking. The best part is everyone doesn’t need to pay the ticket fee to enter the site! As for the scenery, the view of lush trees and nearby mountains looks mesmerizing indeed. Still, the best feature is the romantic sunset with its hypnotizing orange color.

Exploring Jatikerep Hill
People have many reasons to come to Jatikerep Hill. Most of them have the same purpose, though, which is to conduct sightseeing. Once arriving at the top of the hill, tourists may find a vast parking area and some modest concrete benches that reside by the valley. Those spots feature a small gazebo, too, in order to protect tourists from bad weathers like rain and the heat of the sun.

Aside from the parking area, Jatikerep Hill has some unique icons that reside on the site. They are 4 turtles and 3 sharks. Tourists can learn the meaning of those icons from either a tour guide or the locals. After learning the information, it is the time to visit the viewing posts. During holidays and weekends, those spots are crowded and many people swarm the location. They come from both nearby villages and other regions, in fact.

Sightseeing and photography become two prime activities that tourists can do in Jatikerep Hill. Not to mention it becomes a good alternative to witness a sunset with the lover. The best thing is that tourists don’t need to pay the entrance fee like that of Love and Joko Tuwo Hill. Thus, it is suitable for those who don’t have much money to spend a wonderful vacation either with friends or families.
