Pendopo Kabupatan in Jepara Regency, Central Java Province


Before visiting Karimunjawa Island in Jepara Regency, tourists should explore the downtown first. It is because the city offers several nice places to spend holidays, including the one called Pendopo Kabupaten. In terms of name, it means the town’s Javanese building in Indonesia. It resides in the former Regency office and was used as the home of Adipati Jepara. These days, though, the local government uses it as a meeting place and location for numerous types of events. Moreover, it has lured many tourists over time due to the historical, architecture, and environmental aspect.

The Nuance

It is said the Pendopo has been there since 1750 and it was built during the reign of Adipati Citro Kusumo the third. Other rooms include Pingitan and back room. Tourists should not miss them, therefore.

What is next? In front of Pendopo Kabupaten (in the yard to be exact), tourists can find a group of deer. They look cute and fabulous, which also become a perfect object for photography. However, visitors are not allowed to enter the cage. They can only witness and feed the animals from outside the cage. Aside from deer, several peacocks are also seen in a different part of Pendopo. They look beautiful, for sure!

How to Get There
From Semarang City, tourists may spend around 2 hours and 2 minutes to reach Jepara Regency. From the downtown, it takes only 5 minutes to reach Pendopo Kabupaten through Shima Street. The distance is only 3 km, after all.
