Pendopo Kabupatan in Jepara Regency, Central Java Province
Before visiting Karimunjawa Island in Jepara Regency, tourists should explore the downtown first. It is because the city offers several nice places to spend holidays, including the one called Pendopo Kabupaten. In terms of name, it means the town’s Javanese building in Indonesia. It resides in the former Regency office and was used as the home of Adipati Jepara. These days, though, the local government uses it as a meeting place and location for numerous types of events. Moreover, it has lured many tourists over time due to the historical, architecture, and environmental aspect.
As mentioned before, Pendopo Kabupaten represents the Javanese architecture. No wonder it looks both unique and majestic. Aside from the stunning appearance, the building also offers a comfy nuance. Thanks to the grassy field and lush trees. Moreover, many facilities welcome visitors including Kartini’s school, Pemingitan Room, Kartini’s bedroom, Kantil Tree, and some animal cages. In front of the building, a beautiful fountain resides! On the side parts, tourists may see beautiful peacocks and deer, too! This explains why tourists feel satisfied when exploring the location. Exploring Pendopo Kabupatan
Many first-timers may ask regarding tourist activities that they can do in Pendopo Kabupaten. Well, it is as simple as finding information related to the history of the building. It is said the Pendopo has been there since 1750 and it was built during the reign of Adipati Citro Kusumo the third. Well, to find thorough information about it, tourists should find a reliable guide and those who live in that area. Usually, local elders know more about the history of the building, so tourists can go to them for better information.
Aside from learning the history, visitors are allowed to explore the building by the keepers’ permission. The good thing is the building has many interesting rooms to explore. For instance, there is Peringgitan which was used to welcome guests. Next, there is the family room where RA Kartini and her families often spent a good time together. Other rooms include Pingitan and back room. Tourists should not miss them, therefore.
What is next? In front of Pendopo Kabupaten (in the yard to be exact), tourists can find a group of deer. They look cute and fabulous, which also become a perfect object for photography. However, visitors are not allowed to enter the cage. They can only witness and feed the animals from outside the cage. Aside from deer, several peacocks are also seen in a different part of Pendopo. They look beautiful, for sure!

How to Get There
From Semarang City, tourists may spend around 2 hours and 2 minutes to reach Jepara Regency. It is because the distance is 78.1 km, but the trip becomes faster if tourists take Kudus – Semarang Street. From the downtown, it takes only 5 minutes to reach Pendopo Kabupaten through Shima Street. The distance is only 3 km, after all.
