Majene Regency is located in West Sulawesi Province and it is considered a new interesting vacation destination these days. Why is that? When it comes to motive, tourists have many of them. For instance, they want to explore beautiful beaches like Dato Beach. This one is located in Baurung Village of Banggae Timur Sub-District, actually. The location is near to downtown and the beach offers an astonishing sea panorama. No wonder, it has become one of the most famous tourist sites in Majene, which is visited by both locals and outsiders over time!

The Nuance
The first impression once arriving at Dato Beach is the warm breezy wind and exotic sea scenery. The nuance is considered peaceful despite the popularity, though. Tourists may also find two different contours in that area. First, it is the white sandy shoreline where tourists can enjoy beach walking. Another contour is the coral or rocky shoreline. In this spot, tourists can enjoy sightseeing and photography in a more satisfying manner. The sea itself looks stunning with its dark blue and green color gradation. Another important feature is the presence of several inns that reside near to the beach. Thus, tourists can rent a room and spend more than one day there.

Exploring Dato Beach
When it is about tourist activities, visitors are likely to enjoy sightseeing and photography in Dato Beach. They are astonished by the pristine panoramas of the sea as well as the serenity of the nuance. Thanks to the clean environment and good management. Next, tourists can explore different landscapes there. The first one is the sandy shoreline, which features a stunning white soft textured surface. Beach walking can be done comfortably in this area, for sure. Other fun activities to do are beach soccer, beach volley, and sand castle building!

The next recommended area to explore is the rocky landscape, which looks like a cliff. It indeed resides above the sea, so tourists can enjoy sightseeing better up there. The only disappointment is that the area becomes too hot at noon, due to the absence of trees and facilities like gazebos. Thus, it is better to get there either in the morning or afternoon. Next, it is even possible to gather various crustaceans like crabs and seashells. Don’t forget to carry some plastic boxes for storing these cute animals later.

Another thing that tourists can do in Dato Beach is either snorkeling or diving. They can either carry their gear or rent one in Majene Regency before getting in the water. Dato Beach has lots of unspoiled corals and colorful fishes down there. Plus, the water clarity is considered excellent! For those who don’t like snorkeling, they can do other fun things like fishing instead! Also, during special times, especially between August and September, there is a boat race event called Sandeq. So, don’t miss it!
