Kapuas Raya Museum in Sintang Regency, West Kalimantan Province

They are history, culture, and tenun ikat room.

In the history room (Ruang Sejarah), as the name suggests, tourists can see numerous objects that relate to local history. These include photos, maps, documents, and other collections. There is the famous and oldest document called Peta Pula Borneo, which was made in 1657! Well, the next room to explore is called cultural room or Ruang Kebudayaan. As tourists may expect, they would see numerous collections that relate to local culture. Both old and new items are stored neatly in this room.

Another prime room is called Ruang Tenun Ikat. In this area, tourists may see the famous woven fabrics of Dayak Tribe. Lots of facts and information regarding Tenun Ikat are also available there. Thus, it is recommended to take photos of these items during the visit. For the information, the museum has about 600 items! It opens daily except weekends (Saturday and Sunday). How to Get There
For outsiders, it is best to use an airplane service and head to Pontianak City first. From Jakarta City (Soekarno – Hatta International Airport), in this case, a flight to Supadio Airport would take around 1 hour and 25 minutes. Once tourists arrive at Pontianak, they can take another plane service and head to Sintang Regency. This time, the flight would take around 40 minutes. After arriving at Susilo Airport, they can directly head to the museum by taking Lintas Sintang – Putusibau Street. The distance is 15.5 km, so this trip would take around 28 minutes.
