Emas and Perak Cave in Deli Serdang Regency, North Sumatra Province

Spending some time in nature is quite helpful in getting rid of boredom and distressed feelings. The good thing is tourists can find many good places to explore the nature when they are visiting the Deli Serdang Regency in Indonesia. As for the reference, they can visit Emas and Perak Cave in Sinembah Tanjung Muda Hulu Sub-District. It resides in Tiga Juhar Village and near to the famous Linting Lake, in fact. For the information, the site has two caves which are Emas and Perak Cave. The distance between them is only 10 meters, so visitors are likely to explore them both during the visit. In terms of name, “Emas” means gold while “Perak” means silver. No one knows why the locals gave those names, though.

The Nuance
Like other caves, Emas and Perak Cave both offer a dark and damp atmosphere. Still, each of them offers a distinct allure to visitors. It is said tourists would be able to see the sparkle of gold and silver on the roof of those caves! They need to see thoroughly on both the stalagmites and stalactites, though. Also, when entering the caves, everyone should bow a little due to the narrow entrance. Have no worries. The interior is vast regardless of the small cave mouth. Another precaution is related to the land. It is slippery, especially during the rainy season. Therefore, visitors should wear proper footwear when exploring the caves later.

Exploring Emas and Perak Cave
The first thing that tourists can do in Emas and Perak Cave is definitely to explore both caves. One thing, everyone should know the rules when caving. The first requirement is a flashlight! It is because the caves are dark, so tourists need to use the flashlight to explore and appreciate the landscape. Next, it is recommended to hire a local guide who knows the site well. Spending money on the service won’t be a waste, so don’t worry.

In Perak Cave, tourists are able to see the silver granules on the walls. The only problem is that they may find many bats inside the cave. Thus, they should not disturb those animals at all. Otherwise, those bats may fly out the caves while passing everyone. It would be an annoying experience, for sure. The next allure in Perak Cave is none other than the creepy story. It is said the cave was once used to store dead bodies!

In Emas Cave, the walls are ornamented with sparkling golden granules which look like a real gold. The nuance is also as mystical as Perak Cave, for sure. However, the size is considered bigger so tourists can explore it comfortably. Later, before going back to the hotel, tourists should consider visiting a nearby pond and learn the local legend about it! Therefore, it is recommended to hire a local guide beforehand.
