Penen Hot Spring in Deli Serdang Regency, North Sumatra Province

It is true Deli Serdang Regency offers many recommended natural baths for tourists to enjoy relaxation in nature. Actually, the region also has several hot springs! For instance, there is Penen Hot Spring in Sibiru-biru Sub-District. As the name suggests, it resides in Penen Village and becomes a nice place to eradicate tiredness and stresses. Even though the route is considered difficult, tourists won’t regret visiting the site. After paying the parking and entrance fee, they can spend some time in the hot spring and enjoy the nuance to their heart’s content.

The Nuance
Once arriving at Penen Hot Spring, tourists may feel peaceful and comfortable. It is because the number of visitors is low despite the popularity. Another good thing is that the environment is quite clean. However, the site doesn’t provide many ponds, so tourists should come at the right time in order to avoid the crowd. For the information, the site also features a small cave where tourists can explore later! What about the pond? It was built in order to store both freshwater and hot water. Thus, the mixture feels warm and comfortable for everyone. Do not forget the fact that the site is surrounded by trees and buses, so it offers a shady and comfy atmosphere too!

Exploring Penen Hot Spring
It is true most people come to Penen Hot Spring in order to take a bath in the warm and comfy pond. Still, it is also worthy to learn a little bit about the site. According to the locals, the hot spring is managed by the local government. However, any caves that reside on the site are managed privately by the locals. The owner is Ngapul Sitepu. Due to the reason, tourists need to reach Penen and Peria-Ria Village first if they want to reach those caves. The route from the hot spring to those caves is closed by the owner, after all.

In terms of price, the entrance fee is considered affordable. This explains why both locals and outsiders have no problems in accessing the site. The pond is clean and it even features a small fountain. When it comes to the comfort, the water feels so warm and it is good for health too! Some people even say the water can help everyone to get rid of some health issues like itchiness, stroke, hypertension, rheumatic, etc. Thanks to the sulfur content.

The only problem is that tourists won’t find many ponds in Penen Hot Spring. The site only provides 4 small ponds for tourists to use. That means it becomes too crowded during weekends and holidays. In order to avoid the problem, therefore, tourists should choose a more peaceful time especially during working days.
