Baliem Valley in Wamena City, Jayawijaya Regency of Papua Province


Jayawijaya Regency is the next recommended destination for those who love adventure and exploration. The capital is Wamena City and it offers lots of unique natural landscapes that tourists won’t find in other locations. For instance, there is Baliem Valley at Siepkosi Sub-District. The exact location is in Sekan / Wosilimo Village and it is the part of Jayawijaya Mountains. Not to mention it becomes the place where villagers conduct the famous Baliem Festival. How to Get There
The best way to reach Wamena is by airplane. If tourists come from Jayapura City, they may spend a flight of about 30 minutes to reach Wamena City. For those coming from Jakarta City, though, the flight takes approximately 10 hours and 15 minutes. From Wamena, tourists can take Pikhe Street and head to Baliem Valley right away. The distance is 19.6 km, so the trip may take about 44 minutes. Also, later, it involves a short trekking to reach the location.
