Pasir Hill in Bintan Regency, Riau Islands Province

Even though the Riau Islands Province is dominated by islands and beaches, the region also has other interesting attractions for tourists to enjoy. Even visitors can find some majestic highlands there. One of them is called Pasir Hill, which is located in Busung Village of Seri Kuala Lobam Sub-District. For the information, the hill belongs to Bintan Regency. In terms of name, “Pasir” means sand. As the name suggests, the hill is dominated by sandy landscape instead of rocks and cliffs. Due to its distinct beauty, the hill often becomes a place for photography and sightseeing these days.

The Nuance
As mentioned earlier, Pasir Hill has the main features, which are the piles of sands. No wonder, it offers a similar nuance to that of the Middle East. The surface even looks more beautiful at noon due to the reflection of the sun! Thus, it is recommended to visit the hill at noon despite the hot temperature. As for the nuance, it feels both calm and secluded. It is because the number of visitors is scarce, so tourists won’t find many people there.

Exploring Pasir Hill
So, what can tourists enjoy in Pasir Hill? The first thing is related to the trip itself. It is because tourists would pass through a long trip in order to reach the beach. It is recommended to use a private vehicle, though. Also, it is better to come with a local guide who knows the site well. The purpose is to obtain detailed information related to the hill. It is said the site was formed naturally and it was once a sand mining site. As time went by, the mining activity stopped gradually, however.

After arriving on the site, tourists can enjoy exploration right away. The hill is vast enough for an adventure and trekking, after all. One thing, everyone should wear proper footwear and carry some supplies like bottled water. It is because the heat of the sun would be quite troublesome, especially at noon. Next, aside from exploration, tourists should consider taking photos on the site. Have no worries. It can be done freely and everyone would be able to collect many stunning photos!

Here is a fact. The best time to visit Pasir Hill is at noon when the surface looks the most stunning. However, some people choose to come at different times including during a rainy season. At the time, the surface becomes softer and colder. Also, it is recommended to visit at dusk when the sky turns orange. At the time, the sunset may beautify the hill, too.
