Botubarani Beach in Gorontalo City, Gorontalo Province

Exploring Gorontalo City is a new experience for most people, especially outsiders. Even though it may take some time in order to reach the region, tourists won’t regret coming here. As for the best tourist activity, it would be beaches exploration. One of the best beaches to visit, in this case, is Botubarani! The location is in Kabila Bone Sub-District of Bone Bolango Regency. Usually, both locals and tourists come either in the morning or afternoon. They want to enjoy the panorama as well as to see the whale sharks directly while diving! The presence of that exotic creature becomes the prime allure of the beach, actually.

The Nuance
Once arriving at Botubarani Beach, tourists may feel the peaceful nuance right away. It is because the beach has no many visitors. The shoreline features many gravels and small rocks, as well. Thus, everyone should wear footwear when conducting beach walking or exploration there. The next recognizable feature is the presence of traditional buildings and huts that reside on the beach. Not to mention several colorful fishermen boats are parked neatly there! What about the sea? Well, the waves are quite small and the water looks so calm. This explains why diving, swimming, and snorkeling can be done comfortably!

Exploring Botubarani Beach
The first recommended thing to do in Botubarani Beach is definitely related to photography. It is because the beach has lots of interesting objects to capture. For instance, it is the parked boats! These objects have a unique shape and colorful appearance. No wonder, lots of tourists often take selfies in front of those. The next recommended object to capture is a group of local fishermen who live on the shore. They even have built their house by the sea! The good thing is that tourists can ask for foods, drinks, information, and other needs.

Aside from photography, tourists have other reasons for visiting Botubarani Beach. It is none other than swimming or snorkeling. Unlike regular swimming activities, this one offers a more interesting experience! Why is that? It is because tourists are able to swim along with the famous whale sharks. Have no worries. These majestic sea creatures are quite tame and calm, so everyone can approach them easily. Still, hiring a guide or instructor is recommended.

What is next? People also come to Botubarani Beach in order to ride a boat along with the owner. The purpose is to explore the sea and join fishing activities! Somehow, it costs some money to rent the boat. Another consideration is related to time. Tourists must rent the boat while the fishermen are idling. Otherwise, they won’t find any single boats on the shoreline.
