Located in the southernmost of Riau Islands Province, Berhala Island perhaps is not as popular as other islands. Despite the fact, both the beauty and serenity won’t disappoint visitors. Even though Berhala Island doesn’t have cottages or hotels, tourists can stay at the simple camps managed by the marine army. The good news is that the price is quite affordable. Still, for visitors, they are not allowed to cause disturbances and havoc when spending a vacation on the island. It is because the site is guarded by military personnel. That means drinking alcohols and free sex are prohibited! Even those who litter would be punished accordingly. What about tourist activities? Relaxation and water sports become the most common things to do there.

The next recommended thing to do in Berhala Island is none other than to meet the guards. Regardless of strictness, these people are considered friendly to tourists. They may tell visitors regarding the best spots for fishing, too, in fact. Also, some interesting areas are available on that island. These include the lighthouse and sea turtle conservation. Tourists should not miss the chance to visit these spots, therefore.

How to Get There
From Jakarta City, the first destination is Batam City and it can be done fast by airplane. Tourists only need to get an airplane service at Soekarno – Hatta International Airport and head to Hang Nadim Airport right away. As for duration, this flight usually takes around 1 hour and 35 minutes. Next, they can get a boat service at a local port and head to Lingga Island first. Next, they can use another boat service and reach Singkep Island and head to Berhala Island afterward. This voyage usually takes around 4 hours.
