Pangkalanbun
Pangkalanbun is the capital of the Kotawaringin Barat regency, in
the western part of Central Kalimantan. It is busy little town.
In this town, the old Palace of Pangkalanbun, now 200 years old
can still be seen. Made of Ulin (ironwood), it is the only Banjar
royal legacy found in Central Kalimantan.
The Mosque of Kyai Gede is the oldest mosque, being more than 300
years old, found in Kotawaringin district. The Tanjung Puting National
Park is a very wellknown nature and wildlife reserve for lowland
and swamp forest, inhabited by orang utans, owa-owa, bekatan and
other primates. One can visit the Orang Utan Rehabilitation Center,
which is supported by the World Wildlife Fund (WWF).
NATURE GARDEN
TOURISM / NATIONAL TANJUNG PUTTING
It located in West Kotawaringin regency and East Kotawaringin. This
garden is the eldest conservation area in Kalimantan, and have beauty
of natural in variety of natural resources which is forest ecosystem
Kerangas (health forest), swamp forest (fresh water forest) and
low continent rainforest. This area is a habitat for many fauna
type like; bird, mammal and reptile. As well as rehabilitation orang-utan
project that lay at stepped east aside of Sektoyer river.
TANJUNG KELUANG BEACH
It is located against with Nature Garden Tourism / National Tanjung
Putting in Kumai Bay. The beach has white sandy is a place of sunbathing
which like much by foreign tourist.
KUBU BEACH
Sloping and curved beach area in territory water of Kubu Bay that
alternated by forests / bog in settlement south area of resident
with panorama 'Nyiur' (coconut) that wavy, hardly suited for water
sport. This tourism object is located in south side of Kumai 17
km from Pangkalan Bun town.
SULTAN KOTA WARINGIN GRAVE
It is the fossil of Kotawaringin Empire. Actually, this Sultan Palace
has been combustible, but now has been restored to preserve the
highness omission of empire in the past. This grave located in Pangkalan
Bun downtown, hilly area, Kotawaringin Barat regency.
MOSQUE KYAI GEDE
This mosque located in Kotawaringin stripper, capital of sultanate
Kotawaringin. This is very attractive mosque to be visited because
it the empire omission of first Islam in Central Kalimantan Province.
NATAI LENGKUAS
It located in Sekoyer riverside, left side to the north side. Orang-utan,
Bekantan, and other primate type are also met in this area. Recreation
in open nature like hiking that passes the tropical rainforest is
very compatible area, while the footpath have been provided. |
