Bugis – Toraja Tour For 5 Days / 4 Nights

Itinerary:

Day 01: Makassar – Sengkang
On your arrival at Hasanuddin Airport Makassar, you will meet the Tour Guide. Then drive to Sengkang. On the way, you will visit Bantimurung, a multi stepped waterfall also famous for its colorful butterflies. Lunch en route. In the afternoon, arrive in Sengkang onwards you will visit Tempe Lake and having a boat trip to explore the daily life of the local Bugis fishermen who live on the floating houses. Then check in at simple accommodation.

Day 02: Sengkang – Toraja
After breakfast, you will visit the weaving center. Here you can see women hand spin and weave traditional sutera sarong silk clothes. Then drive to Toraja via Palopo. On the way from Palopo to pppToraja, you will feel amaze of many spectacular nature scenery. You will also stop on Puncak Paredean (peak) for having a rest while enjoy the beautiful mountainous panorama. Lunch will be served at a local restaurant. In the afternoon, arrive in Rantepao. Dinner and overnight stay at the Hotel.

Day 03: Full Day Toraja Tour
After breakfast, you will on a full day Toraja tour. First, you will visit Lemo where you can find hanging graves with their rows of Tau-Tau sculptures. Then visit to Tampangallo, an ancient and natural grave in a cave with its entombed deceased. On to Kambira, where you will explore the extra ordinary of baby graves on tree which called “Tarra Tree“. Lunch will be served at local restaurant. After lunch, you will visit Pallawa & Sa’dan which are famous as the center of wood carving in Tana Toraja. In the afternoon, back to Hotel for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 04: Full Day Tour At Tana Toraja
After breakfast, the guide will take you on another full day tour around Tana Toraja. In the morning, visit Bori’ where you can find ancient megalith stones which already exist since thousands years. Then take you to Tinombayo highland to enjoy the superb view of the rice terraces and Torajan local villages from the hill-top. Then visit Batutumonga where you can view Rantepao downtown. Then visit Lokomata, graves on a giant megalith stone. Continue the trip by taking a soft trekking from Pana to Tikala passing through the several Torajan villages with the local daily life style. Lunch will be served at local restaurant in Rantepao. In the afternoon, you will visit Marante & Nanggala, local Torajan villages with big Tongkonan houses and rice barns. In Nanggala, you will also could find bats hanging on trees around this village. Then, back to Hotel for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 05: Back To Makassar
After breakfast, check out hotel. Then drive back to Makassar via Pare-Pare. On the way we will stop on Puncak Bambapuang to enjoy the spectacular view of the erotic mountain Buttukabobong. Lunch will be served at a seafood restaurant in Pare-Pare. In the afternoon arrive in Makassar, and transfer directly to Hasanuddin Airport Makassar to get your flight for your next destination. End of Tour.
