MAHAKAM RIVER & KUTAI NATIONAL PARK (5 Days/ 4 Nights)

mahakam_river&Kutai_National_ParkDay 1, BALIKPAPAN – MAHAKAM RIVER
Leave from Balikpapan drive to Kota Bangun by car it’s take 4 – 5 hours driving. On arrival board on the private motorized canoe then immediately cruise up the Mahakam river to Tanjung Isuy. Lunch en-route, Dinner & overnight in Dayak Long House.

Day 2, TANJUNG ISUY – MANCONG – MUARA MUNTAI – KOTA BANGUN
Morning, after breakfast leave to Mancong by motorized canoe across the vast Jempang lake for homeland of Benuaq Dayak. On arrive at Mancong village a welcome ceremony will be held by the Chief of Dayak and following traditional dances with his people. Here you’ll see the Grand Long house of Benuaq Dayak with their Tote m Pole in front of Long house. Afterwards return to Muara Muntai and made a stop to observe the way of life of Kutai people. You’ll see the Monkeys, birds, snake along the Ohong river. Then continue down the river to Kota Bangun for your accommodation. Meals provided.

Day 3, KOTA BANGUN- SAMARINDA – SANGATA – KUTAI NATIONAL PARK
Morning after breakfast leaving to Sangata by passing Samarinda city the capital of East Kalimantan, then continue drive to Sangata. Arrive in Sangata, transfer by motorized canoe continue further up the river to Camp Kakap. After dinner in the evening if no rain you may little trek into the forest to observe the insect, bugs and Tarantula.   Stay and overnight at simple camp.

Day 4, KUTAI NATIONAL PARK – ORANGUTAN
Early morning, after breakfast start your trek into the forest to search the wild life of Orangutan. Lunch will be back at the camp. After lunch, walk again into the forest to see more Orangutan and other wild life. In Afternoon back to camp for stay and overnight.

Day 5, SANGATA – BALIKPAPAN
Morning breakfast at hotel, then transfer by car drive to Balikpapan. Lunch will at local restaurant on the way back.
