2 Days/1 Night Bali Jungle Experience

Day  1: SOUTH BALI – BATUKARU (87 KM/08 HRS)
Pick up from your hotel in South Bali (based on Sanur/Tanjung Benoa/Nusa Dua/Jimbaran/Kuta/Seminyak), for our trip to Batukaru. En route, we stop for a visit Pura Taman Ayun. It was founded by one of the kings of Mengwi, I Gusti Agung Anom, in the 17th century. The small doors of the shrines are beautifully carved, and the surrounding moat gives the impression of a garden sanctuary in the middle of a pond. Lunch will be provided at Billy’s Terrace Restaurant. In the afternoon, about 14:00 – 15:00 PM, The Giri representative will meet us at Jatiluwih village at the outer parking area of Billy’s Terrace Restaurant. While all luggages will be transferred to The Giri Tent Resort and directly stored into the booked tent, we are joining a pleasant afternoon walk to discover the beautiful terrace rice fields of Jatiluwih, a UNESCO world heritage site. Stop for a welcome picnic in the middle of the rice fields with hot local mountain coffee or an organic red rice tea and biscuits. Short 15 minutes car transfer to check in at The Giri Resort for overnight in comfortable tents with private bathroom and large wooden floored terrace. Relax and enjoy the fresh clean mountain air and the view of mountain peaks fully covered with dense rainforest. After sunset in the early darkness of the night, join a spiritual experience in a hidden jungle temple. A Hindu priest will lead us through a ceremony, asking the God of Luck & Wealth for a more prosperous life in the future. Your guide will explain all steps of this ceremony for you to understand. For this ceremony, all participants will be dressed in Balinese temple costume and will be given flower offerings with fragrant incense sticks. After the ceremony a romantic candle light dinner at The Giri’s restaurant. (Not a must to join this ceremony, the guest who does not join the ceremony in the temple, can help the chef to prepare the dinner/ a semi cooking class).

Day  2: BATUKARU TREKKING – SOUTH BALI (87 KM / 08 HRS)
Breakfast at the hotel. Sunrise watching at 06:30 am from each terrace of the tent, with a small thermos bottle with hot water, coffee and tea are in a bamboo basket in the tent. Breakfast will served at 07:30 until 09:00 AM in the restaurant. Afterward we will continue our activity today with rainforest trekking, in cool and fresh mountain climate, on an altitude of 850 m above sea level, we explore on foot (app. 1,5 – 2 hrs) the colourful wilderness of Jatiluwih Nature Reserve. Beautiful terraced rice fields, orchards of mountain coffee, bamboo- and dense rainforest. Learn all about tropical plants and its use. En route of the trekking we will collect edible, wild crowing jungle vegetables, roots and leaves, which the cook will prepare for lunch. At the finish point at The Wana Giri Rainforest Camp, chilled refreshments and a delicious BBQ-Lunch with steaks are awaiting. Western toilet and shower facilities include towels are available. This program is designed for all who love to be in the nature. Afterward in the afternoon, our guide will pick you up at The Giri and drive you back to your extension beach hotel in South of Bali OR transfer to the airport for your onward flight.
