Gangga Island


Gangga Island is located in West Likupang sub-distrcit, North Minahasa Regency, North Sulawesi. The distance is about 12 kilometers from the city of Manado. There are two villages that inhabit this Island; the village of Gangga I and Gangga II Village. Gangga Island offers natural beauty that is still quite awake and genuine. Most of the people on this island are fishermen and they also maintaining the beauty of the island.

The beach on the island has white sand and clear blue sea water. The sea is calm enough. The wealth of marine life is very varied. The coral reefs are colorful and there are various types of fishes that add the charm of this island. In addition, the Gangga Island is also has a panoramic sunrise and sunset that better not to be missed. On this island in addition to snorkeling or diving, the visitors are also allowed to fish.

On this island, you can get some accommodation like resorts or bungalows with terraces that directly overlooking the sea. Some lodgings even provide air conditioning facilities, mini bar, and the bathrooms that have been fitted with a shower. Some eateries are also available in the area of the Island.

The closest town to go to the location of the island is via the city of Manado. There are many airlines that offer a route to Manado and publict transportation that will ride you to the location. From Manado, you can go directly to Likupang. The trip could use a mini bus or private vehicle. From Likupang, we go straight into Pasar Likupang or Likupang Market area. From this area, we can continue the trip by using speedboat or wooden boat with rental costs around Rp.15,000 per person. The travel time from Pasar Likupang to Gangga Island is about 40 minutes away. Every boat that departs from Pasar Likupang have different time schedule. If you want to get more quickly to the destination, the boat can be hired at more expensive cost, depending on the distance course or destination location.
