Sumur Tiga Rasa in Mamuju Regency, West Sulawesi Province

Karampuang perhaps is the only famous island that tourists can visit in Mamuju Regency. It is because the island offers beautiful vacation spots and some unique sites for everyone to explore. For example, there is Sumur Tiga Rasa. The name means the “Well of Three Flavors”, actually. The locals consider it sacred and have promoted it to outsiders for decades. They also call it Sumur Jodoh due to the belief that the well is able to help visitors in getting a soul mate. Well, not all people believe in such myth, though. Despite the fact, more tourists are interested in it. They want to learn the history as well as to watch the well directly.

The Nuance
As mentioned earlier, Sumur Tiga Rasa is part of Karampuang Island. So, tourists should rent a boat from Mamuju Port and head to the island first. The size of the island is only 6 km per square, so it won’t take much time to explore it. After passing through several landscapes like mangroves and coconut trees, tourists can find the well right away. Once again, the well comes with three types of water which are fresh, salt, and brackish water. In terms of appearance, it is similar to other wells, though. The width is about 2 meters and it has the square foundation as well.

Exploring Sumur Tiga Rasa
It is safe to say that Sumur Tiga Rasa is the most popular tourist object in Karampuang Island. Well, people have a distinct motive to come to the site though. For instance, some of them want to enjoy the nuance during the trip. It is because everyone needs to pass through both land and sea landscape in order to get to the location. The best part perhaps is when they arrive at Ujung Bulo Port of Karampuang Island. This simple port has the length of 300 meters and features a unique roof, which is worth photography. Thus, do not forget to take some photos there before reaching the famous well later.

The next thing that tourists often do once they arrive at Sumur Tiga Rasa is to conduct photography. Visitors can either take photos of the well or selfies in front of it. Not only the site offers the well, but it also comes with other interesting objects like local farms and local people. Due to the reason, all tourists should not forget to explore the site and capture more pictures there.

What is more? It is, without a doubt, tourists come to Sumur Tiga Rasa in order to learn the history and myth regarding the well. According to the locals, everyone can easily find his or her soul mate if they drink the well’s water and pray on site. Despite the difference in opinion, visitors should not miss the chance to drink the water!
