Tai Manuq Island in Majene Regency, West Sulawesi Province


Another serene island is available for tourists to visit when spending a vacation in Mamuju City of West Sulawesi Province. The name is Tai Manuq or Taimanu Island. It belongs to Sendana Sub-District and becomes the part of Majene Regency. Even though it takes some time to cross the sea and get to the island, this trip is indeed worthy. Actually, some locals also call it Pulau Idaman, which means the ideal island. Despite the small size, it offers amazing scenery and good nuance to conduct relaxation, water sports, exploration, and photography.

How to Get There
From Jakarta City, tourists should head to Mamuju City first. It is recommended to take an airplane to get there fast, though. For the information, a flight to Tampa Padang Airport (Mamuju) from Soekarno – Hatta International Airport takes about 4 hours and 35 minutes. From Mamuju, the next destination is Palipi Port at Sendana Sub-District. This trip takes 2 hours and 56 minutes by local transportation service, as the distance is 125 km. The last thing to do is to ride a boat and head to Tai Manuq Island right away. This may take around 2 hours by a local boat called Ketinting, actually.
