Sebedang Lake in Sambas Regency, West Kalimantan Province

One of the best vacation spots in Sambas Regency is Sebedang Lake. This beautiful lake is located in Sempelai Sebedang Village and belongs to Sebawi Sub-District. The most allure is definitely the panorama, so visitors can enjoy sightseeing and photography there. The next reason is related to the location, which is quite strategic and near to downtown. That means tourists won’t spend much time to reach the location. Plus, it opens for everyone and doesn’t have fixed opening hours. So, everyone can visit it regardless of the time of the visit. Still, visitors need to pay the entrance fee.

The Nuance
Once arriving at Sebedang Lake, tourists would see lots of trees that surround the lake. A route to this lake is considered nice as well, featuring a paved road. There is a gate where tourists need to pay the entrance ticket, as well. Have no worries. The expense is quite worthy. The beauty and serenity of the lake are the prime allures. Moreover, visitors would enjoy the view of hill and mountain on the site. Some small gazebos also reside on the sides of the lake! For the best nuance, however, it is recommended to come in the morning when lots of dew occur and in the afternoon when the sky looks romantic with its orange color.

Exploring Sebedang Lake
One of the reasons for visiting Sebedang Lake is to enjoy relaxation. Tourists can simply stand by the lake and watch the views of a hill, mountain, water, and lush trees. The best location for relaxation, this case, is at the gazebo. However, the number of this facility is limited, so tourists should queue when the lake is crowded by people. Another tip is to come early in the morning or afternoon when the nuance is the best and the site becomes more peaceful. That means the gazebos would be vacant.

The lake is surrounded by shady and tall trees. This explains why the ambiance feels quite comfy there. The next thing to enjoy during the visit is exploration and trekking. The location is quite near to the mountain slope, after all. Thus, tourists can explore the mountain and get better views from up there. Have no worries. The heat of the sun won’t disturb anyone due to the presence of tall and lush trees. This exploration won’t be tiring, as well.

The good news is that the local management provides mats for tourists to rent during the visit. This helps those who don’t have the chance to sit at gazebos due to the crowd. Next, it is recommended to talk to the locals regarding the urban story. It is said the lake was once used by Sambas’s sultans for bathing! These kings were impressed by the clarity, freshness, and beautiful panoramas of the lake back then.
