Dungun Laut Beach in Sambas Regency, West Kalimantan Province

Many astonishing beaches can be found in Sambas Regency and each of them offers a different allure to visitors. In Dungun Laut Beach, for example, tourists can have a merry vacation and spend a good time in a vast shoreline. As the name suggests, the beach is located in Dungun Laut Village and it belongs to Jawai Sub-District. The location is considered far from the city center, but the accessibility is nice. Thus, everyone can get there easily. The next reason why it is popular is related to the number of visitors, which is considered a lot. The beach is crowded by both locals and tourists regardless of the time! It indeed becomes more crowded during weekends!

The Nuance
The distance between the parking area and the shoreline is a little bit far, so tourists need to walk to get there. In terms of nuance, Dungun Laut Beach is merry. Lots of villagers are seen especially in the afternoon. The size of the shoreline is both vast and long, after all. That means it is able to accommodate lots of people at once. As for features, the white sandy landscape with a soft texture is one of them. Some chunks of rocks are seen on the site, as well. What about the sea? The seascape is beautiful and the waves are moderate. Thus, swimming is possible if it is done carefully.

Exploring Dungun Laut Beach
The vast and long shoreline becomes the main allure in Dungun Laut Beach. Thus, visitors can enjoy exploration and beach walking to their heart’s content. It is best to be done in the morning, though, when the nuance is more refreshing. At the time, the beach feels more peaceful as the number of visitors is lower than in the afternoon. Those who want a merrier ambiance, on the other hand, they should come in the dusk when many locals are seen on the site.

What is next? Visitors can enjoy swimming in Dungun Laut Beach. Once again, it is possible to swim in the sea, but everyone should be careful. The safest time to enjoy swimming is indeed during the low tide. The waves are friendlier at the time. For those who can’t swim, in this case, they only need to sit by the sea and watch the beautiful panorama on the horizon. Even the sound of waves and comfy breezy wind would soothe them!

For the information, Dungun Laut Beach is also suitable for casual surfing. Even though the waves are not great, it is good enough for enjoying the activity. In fact, local kids often surf there. Another common thing to do is a tradition called Mandi Safar. At the time, villagers gather on the beach and take a bath in the sea together (during the low tide). For tourists, this event indeed is worth a photo shot.
