Impendi Beach in Biak Numfor Regency, Papua Province

Beautiful nature, interesting history, and archipelago are some allures that tourists can find in Biak Numfor Regency. The region even has lots of stunning beaches to explore. One of them is located in Yendidori Sub-District, which is called Impendi Beach. The exact location is in Suneri Village and it resides in the south part of Biak Island. The popularity is indeed excellent among the locals. Villagers and those who live in Biak Numfort have been visiting the beach for generations, after all. As for outsiders and tourists, this beach can be a good choice to spend their first adventure in Biak!

The Nuance
In terms of nuance, Impendi Beach combines both exotic beauty and serenity. The location is a little bit secluded, after all. The shoreline has moderate size and it features many cliffs and caves. As for the sea, tourists would be astonished by its calmness. No wonder, visitors can enjoy swimming comfortably there. On the other hand, surfing is not recommended due to small waves. What is more? Along the way to the shoreline, tourists need to pass through a grassy landscape with lots of bushes on both sides. Stairs are also seen in that area!

Exploring Impendi Beach
For the information, Impendi Beach has been chosen as one of the best recreational sites among the locals. This explains why lots of villagers are often seen on the site regardless of the time. The question is what tourists can do there. The most common thing to do would be exploration. Before reaching the shoreline, visitors would see lots of stairs. They need to pass through these as well. The locals call it “Tangga Seribu” or the thousand stairs. Somehow, this area is suitable for photography. That means tourists would take photos while sitting on the stairs.

Once arriving at Impendi Beach, tourists may see pristine scenery on the horizon. Even though the texture is not as soft as other beaches, the shoreline indeed is good enough for relaxation and beach walking. One thing, it must be done during good times like in the morning or afternoon. The reason is the beach doesn’t feature gazebos or places to rest. The heat of the sun would be uncomfortable at noon, therefore. During the exploration, it is recommended to reach an area where many cliffs and caves reside. Don’t forget to take photos in that spot, too!

What is next? Impendi Beach is known for the calm waves, so it becomes a suitable place for swimming, snorkeling, and diving. As mentioned before, surfing is not recommended. For those who can’t swim, they can reach the caves and rest there while watching sea scenery instead. The breezy atmosphere helps them to relax, without a doubt.
