How to Get There
Before heading to Binalatung Beach, tourists should get to Tanjung Selor City first (the capital of North Kalimantan Province). The best way to get there is by airplane, actually. From Jakarta City (Soekarno – Hatta International Airport) to Tanjung Harapan Airport (Tanjung Selor City), the flight may take approximately 1 day and 11 hours. Once arriving at the airport, their next destination is Tengkayu Port at Tarakan Island. It can be done by riding a boat from Kayan Port at Tanjung Selor and the voyage takes about 5 hours. After getting to Tengkayu Port, the next destination is Binalatung Beach at East Tarakan Sub-District. This trip takes only around 22 minutes, as the distance is 12 km. For the fastest route, tourists should take Kusuma Bangsa and Gunung Amal Street.
