Even as at to date there are more than 10 tin smelters operating actively on the island. Mining activity is the major revenue contibutor to the island. Please get the facts right about the island or get it updated. Bangka is like a second home to me eventhough I last visited the place some 4 years ago. The people there are very friendly and welcome you to their home as if you are one of their family.
