Komodo, Krakatau and Lake Toba nominated as New7Wonders
The New7Wonders Foundation has chosen three destinations in Indonesia such as the Komodo Island national park, Lake Toba and Krakatau island in its campaign to nominate new7wonders of nature for the 2008-2010 period.
The nomination campaign of new7wonders of nature was conducted through live vote method at www.new7wonders.com (live vote URL:http://www.new7wonders.com/nature/en/liveranking/).
“Following the nomination of the three destinations concerned, the New7wonders Foundation has issued a press release expected to be socialized to the community of Indonesia,” Esthy Reko Astuty, the Director of Promotion Facility of the Culture and Tourism Ministry of the Republic of Indonesia, said here recently.
It was said that the marketing directorate general of the culture and tourism ministry in August of this year had made a better coordination with relevant agencies in hope of being able to make one of the Indonesian destinations like Komodo Island National Park, Lake Toba and Krakatau island advance to the final selection in early 2009.
The coordination was made by this marketing directorate general with relevant departments and community just to better socialize the presence of the three destinations during the selection campaign of the new7wonders of nature, thus encouraging Indonesian public to participate in making live voting through internet.
