Indonesian to promote itself as leisure and MICE destination in Indian market
Opens first representative office in country, appoints Connect Worldwide India as representatives
The Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Republic of Indonesia opened its office in India last month, which is part of a suite of nine representative offices serving the globe. The Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Republic of Indonesia has appointed Connect Worldwide - India as the representatives to market and promote the destination. The representative office is the first-ever presence for Indonesia in the Indian market. The Indonesian Tourism also plans to host a series of events to establish Indonesia in the forefront of the Indian Market. India is one of the emerging markets for Indonesia. The number of tourists from India has been increasing favourably year on year and this year the Indonesian Ministry of Culture and Tourism aims to increase the figure to 120,000 visitors.
Commenting on the opening of the India representation office Sapta Nirwandar, Director General Marketing, Ministry of Culture and Tourism said that the prime mission is to position Indonesia as a preferred tourist destination and to increase awareness of Indonesia as a leisure, business and MICE destination by effective communication with the travel trade, airlines, media and consumers. Sanjay Sondhi, Managing Director, Connect Worldwide - India said, “We are pleased and excited to be appointed as the representatives of the Indonesian Tourism office. Our aim is to network and provide assistance for the local travel trade to develop tours to Indonesia.”
