Indonesia’s tourist arrivals increase 13.5% for first nine months of 2007

According to a Thomson Financial News report, figures from the Central Bureau of Statistics have shown Indonesian tourist arrivals for the first nine months of 2007 have increased 13.5% to reach 3.36 million.
This figure was mainly boosted by the 1.29 million visitors who travelled to Bali, an increase of 33.7%.
Meanwhile, Jakarta’s Soekarno-Hatta airport announced it received a similar number of visitor arrivals with 854, 492 visitor arrivals compared to last year with 854, 323 arrivals.
During September, figures from the bureau showed that Indonesia’s 15 entry points received 382, 461 visitors despite having 405, 604 visitors in August.
The Tourism Ministry also released its traveller spending figures, with 4.87 overseas visitors travelling to Indonesia in 2006 and spending USD $4.45 billion.
