Garuda sponsoring Bali food festival in Beijing
Beijing (ANTARA News) - National flag carrier Garuda Indonesia`s sponsoring a “Bali Food Festival” is being held at Crown Plaza hotel in Beijing, China, from June 13 to 23, 2007.
The Bali food festival is organized as part of efforts to promote Indonesia`s tourism potentials and culinary of Bali to the people of China.
“We are trying to help promote Bali`s tourism to the Chinese people through a culinary event,” Garuda Indonesia`s Beijing Office General Manager Pikri Ilham K said here on Wednesday.
He said that Bali`s tourism has not been adequately promoted in China which has a high tourist potential for Bali.
The other target of the festival was to introducing Balinese specific food and delicacies to the people of China so that Chinese tourists were already familiar with local food when they visited the island paradise.
“We deliberately chose Balinese food and delicacies to be presented in the festival this time, and we hope a similar festival would be held next year,” Ilham said, adding that possibly Bali would be taken again as the theme, or other province with interesting tourist spots and destinations.
He said that Garuda Indonesia had been flying a lot of Chinese tourists to Bali via Singapore or Jakarta. (*)
