Oman Travel Market Exhibition opened today
H.E. Engineer Abdullah Bin Abbas Bin Ahmed, Chairman of Muscat Municipality inaugurated the three-day Oman Travel Market Exhibition today in the presence of senior government officials, ambassadors and dignitaries.
Organised by OITE, under the auspices of Ministry of Tourism and supported by United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), the exhibition will run up to 10 May 2007 and is open to visitors from 10 am to 1 pm and 5 pm to 8:30 pm at the Oman International Exhibition Centre.
Oman Travel Market Exhibition is organised with the aim of popularising various destinations within Oman and internationally. The major focus will be on destinations for Medical tourism, Oman Tourism, Real Estate Tourism and International Tourism.
The Ministry of Tourism at their stand will provide information on various development plans to make the Sultanate a preferred destination. Internal travelers can gain a lot of information on options available in the Sultanate.
For Oman, the development of tourism has become one of the key objectives of development planning, as it is particularly suited to create jobs for young Omanis. Development plans concerning tourism are focused on attracting foreign investments in projects such as hotels, golf courses and theme parks.
Sultanate, as a country, has much to offer to the visitors: a rich cultural heritage, spectacular mountainous landscape and desert, some of the world’s finest beaches, the warmth and hospitality of the local people.
More than 30 companies from Austria, Bahrain, Egypt, India, Indonesia, Jordan, Malaysia, Oman, Thailand, Turkey and UAE are participating at this exhibition.
