The most important archaeological remains from the Majapahit period is Candi Penataran, located 10 km north of Blitar on the slopes of Mount Kelud. Penataran Temple is the biggest Hindu temple which occupies a special position among all temples to be found in East Java. Known to ancient literature and inscriptions as Palah, this temple appears to have undergone continuous construction for some two and a half centuries. Its importance can be witnessed further by the regular visits paid to it by King Hayam Wuruk of Majapahit, as mentioned in the Negarakertagama. Even though Penataran dates back to at least the reign of King Srengga of Kediri at the end of the 12th century, the remains which we see today are almost entirely the work of Majapahit architects and builders.

A tentative date from around the early to mid 13th century has been assigned to this temple. The base of the temple lies several meters below the present ground level, a result of having been buried under a mass of lava, presumably from an eruption of nearby volcanic Mount Kelud. History of Recreational & Sport Flying in Bali

It’s all about flying, nothing more…
The credit of recreational flying industry in Bali, when I speak, it will start from two names they are Pilot. Dr. William Becker & Pilot Chepy R Nusation. Countless efforts done by this two pioneers in the sports aviation should not be forgotten.
The first Bali Buleleng flying in 2001, an international event of its kind in Bali, was successfully held with zero incident, 100% success, 1000% lots of fun & with lots of future planning for the industry. Big part of credit with such a success could be able to read, Similarly this time we should be able to read like last event or more . Achieving the goal & bringing the dream come true was made by Mr. Chepy Nusation so called “the Unique Chief air man”

Words of Congratulations & gratitude should be thrown to Mr. Annas The ex-commander of Lanud air base of Bali, period of year 2001. Mr. Chepy’s sports aviation activity is not limited to Bali, even his home base is in Jakarta, like an octopus his roles are in four corners of beautiful Indonesian archipelago which consist of treasures 18.000 island with rich natural & cultural resources. I called it “you dig anywhere in the country, opportunities come out of it”.

It’s about flying, the great pleasure & enjoyment in other words “the kick” you get when you accelerate the plane, pull the throttle, speed of the runway or the air field when the plane touch off & gain altitude, level flight no more knobs, switches & buttons to press enjoy the blue sky, the scenery & you say yourself “arivadaci & bonvoyage” take a deep breathe in, exhale, the dream of flying starts & that’s all about flying. This is the dream of Mr. William Becker.

Everybody’s dream of flying in Bali has become evident now we have Mr. Benards paragliding operation off Nusa Dua & a second operation similar kind in By pass Tuban which they have successfully operated for quite sometime.

Some other sky diving operations, hot balloon operation did very hard to make it to a reality with lots of energy & time however with regret the progress is not as rewarding. At present there are few other interested parties working on similar sort hope with gods blessing it will not be a dream, it will be “nothing more than flying”

Mr. Suudi, Mr. Dodi, Mr. Barokna & Pak Puja Erawan’s contribution & support for this industry development in Bali is Bravo with your name, this industry will bloom not only in Bali but in Indonesia.

Ground breaking records made by sky divers (international event) taken place by the Mr. Letkol Yoyok’s time of duty, during his time of duty in Bali as air base commandant of Bali will not be a written history but a motive for the future flying enthusiasts in Bali. Every coin has two sides those who has achieved goals & those who were called by the force of nature while trying & after achieving objectives of the mission may rest in peace god bless you all. This gives new comers to the field strive harder & bigger dreams to catch & achieve better goals on behalf of all your names. Rest in peace may all health & wealth is with the ones you left behind

New eras, leaders & events success of each event involves many people hard work & sacrifices. May each event be a success & thanks to all for those who did something for such event & those who will & intend to do may the flying industry in Bali is not just a dream it’s all about flying for fun & joy, tourist attraction , promotional purpose thriving industry with lots of opportunity for investors & last, job opportunities for the Indonesian.

Flying is Fun!!

History of Balinese, Indonesian tourism industry never passed such a tragedies period. The effort to rehabilitate recovery is done by major business player & authorities. But effect on small needy people are more than any other parties in the island & country specially people living in areas far away major tourist destination.

Main target of Bali Buleleng fly inn 2006 is to promote the potential truism industry by mean of recreational & sports flying potential in the area of Pemuteran & Sumber kima village by declearing as a DESA DIRGANTARA (recreational & sports flying village) Not only flying will be the high light of the area but potential marine tourism industry by sinking a man made wreck of an air plane & ship contributed by the sponsor will encourage automated tourism industry for the needy local villagers who are not as advantages unlike other part of the Bali.

The result of all this will attract investors while the local government can benefit out of this . End of the chain the local villagers will have the decent opportunity to move the economy of the regency

Jogja Furniture Show October 13 to 17, 2006

The Jogja Furniture Show is organized by the local exporters of furniture in Yogya (or Jogja spell it either way!) Indonesia in cooperation with Jogja Export Expo and the local Yogyakarta government in its desire to promote Yogya as an international marketing center for furniture and its longstanding, village-based, home wares industry.

The Jogjakarta Expo Center, where the Jogja Furniture Show is held, is a new facility with almost 10,000 sq m of floor space. Last year one third of this area was used for The Jogja Furniture Show, this year we will utilise the entire building with a threefold increase in exhibitors. The Yogyakarta, Indonesian export community will be displaying its newest products and capabilities, you will find a list of exhibitors here.

Yogyakarta is in the heart of Indonesia’s furniture industry, located in Central Java this is where Indonesia makes its furniture. Yogya has always been a center for handmade home wares and handicrafts, and is now, increasingly, becoming a major furniture production center. With many major manufacturers located within a comparitively small area. It is located 65 km from Solo and 40 km from Klaten, two cities known for the production of classic rustic mahogany and teak furniture. It is also 100 km from Semarang, a major industrial center with large furniture factories, and 165 km from Jepara, the traditional center for the production of carved and antique reproduction furniture. Jogjakarta has the best of both worlds, a large pool of creative labour, infinite locally available resources and the support of the local government in promoting exports of solid wood furniture and an excellent community of fascinating artisans working in handicrafts both innovative and traditional.

Yogyakarta boasts other advantages as well. As a major tourist center, it has an abundance of high quality hotels. It has direct flights to Singapore and Kuala Lumpur and quick international connections via Jakarta or Bali. Before or after your attendance at the Furniture Show and the JEE (which is being held October 4th to 8th), we highly recommend a visit to the city and the surrounding areas. Yogyakarta is the closest large city to the magnificent temples of Burobudur and Prambanan.

Yogyakarta is one of Indonesia’s main cities,
with direct flights from Kuala Lumpur & Singapore
as well as Jakarta and Bali.

What is up with this name? Yogyakarta, Indonesia the name that has been used for years this way or for short Yogya or an even older way was Djokjakarta. About 2 years ago this city/state decided that people from the outsite of Indonesia could not pronouce the word Yogya or Yogyakarta so they decided that it would be better to change the spelling of Yogyakarta to Jogja or Jogjakarta, Indonesia. To say the least this has added more to the confusion than helped. If you look on the Garuda Airlines website the state owned airlines for Indonesia you will find it spelled even a different way Jogya or Jogyakarta Indonesia. So when you see all the different ways to spell this city’s name, be it Yogyakarta, Yogya, Jogya, Jogyakarta, Jogya or even Daerah Istemewa Yogyakarta or the Special District of Yogyakarta now you will understand its all the same.
