Enjoying The Plantation and Beautiful Beaches in Jember
Jember, a regency in East Java that has direct border with Probolinggo and Bondowoso in north, Banyuwangi in the east, Hindia Ocean in South and Lumajang in west. Those who live in Jember are mostly Javanese and Madurese with minority of Chinese and Osing people. Most of inhabitants are working as a farmer, where most of the areas are used as plantation and agro tourisms. Moreover, Jember is also has several beaches that been famous by the visitors.
Watu UloWatu Ulo is located about 45 KM from Jember city, and lies on the Indonesian ocean. It is called "Watu Ulo"or snake stone by the natives because they believe that in the past there was a snake that was becoming a spirit among the society. After becoming a spirit, it becomes a stone resembling a snake, sticking into the sea with its body lying on the land. During the Japanese occupation, the Japanese soldiers made fortresses which were used for fortifying against the attacking enemies and now some of the fortresses also become the tourism sites.
Papuma BeachNear to Watu Ulo beach, there is Papuma beach. Papuma is referring to Pantai Putih Malikan or Malikan white sandy beach. Those who are visiting Papuma beach will have a great time sun-bathing or walking over the white sandy path enjoying the sunset. Besides its natural scenic beauty, Papuma is also rich of exotic animals, such as the lizard, forest cock, various birds, wild pig, deer porcupine, scaly anteater and many others. Papuma Cape Coast is located in the district of Ambulu and Wuluhan, Jember, East Java. Papuma beach is a very exotic beach compared to the existing beaches in East Java. It has turquoise color Tone Ocean and a very fine white sand. Hence, it makes Papuma become affordable beach that can be visited in East Java.
Paseban BeachPaseban is located in 52 Km to the northwest of Jember. The nuance from this beach is chilling with gentle waves and it suitable for swimming and playing around the seashore. Those who are love to get tanned, can enjoy sunbathing or doing beach volleying.
Bandealit BeachLocated in the area of Meru Betiri National Park, precisely in 35Km from downtown Jember, Bandealit beach offers charming panorama that worth visiting. Settled next to Sukamade Beach, Bandealit has calm waves and suitables for doing wind surfing, fishing and swimming. The location of Bandealit beach is in the bay, then it makes the rich of fishes gathering around the shore and very perfect for doing fishing.
Rembangan SiteRembangan tourism site is located 12 Km to the north of Jember city. This place is in the form of Mountain view and used as recreational place like Puncak and Tretes. Around Rembangan site, there are plantations like dragon fruits, coffee plantation and orchid plantation. For those who love to stay here, there are hotels, playgrounds, restaurants and camping ground.
Tobacco AgrotourismJember is one of the best tobacco producers in Indonesia. In its development, the tobacco plantation is not always becomes the cultivation place but also tourism site. One of tobacco agro-tourism in Jember is Besoeki Na Oogst that located in Ajung village, Jenggawah sub-distict and it belongs to PT. Perkebunan Nusantara IX that covering 1000 ha.
