Watu Jadah Waterfall in Wonogiri Regency, Central Java Province

For those visiting Wonogiri Regency, they must not forget to come to Watu Jadah Waterfall at Jatipurno Sub-District. The exact location is in Grenjeng Village and it resides in the slope of the southern Lawu Mountains. No wonder, visitors would be impressed by the beauty of nature and various types of landscapes. Also, not many people know the presence of this waterfall so the site is considered quiet and low in terms of visitors. For the information, it consists of two waterfalls having the same river current. The upper waterfall is called Watu Jadah while another is called Binangun Waterfall.

The Nuance
When it comes to nuance, as mentioned before, the site offers a peaceful atmosphere due to the low number of visitors. After all, the location is in the midst of a forest and it is surrounded by lots of trees. Once arriving at the site, tourists may also find lots of square stones and rocks overlapped with each other. Somehow, their shape is similar to a local snack called “Jadah”. This explains why the locals gave the name based on it. Another important feature is the presence of a pond under the waterfall where tourists can enjoy swimming and play water freely.

Exploring Watu Jadah Waterfall
Watu Jadah Waterfall is located in the east part of Wonogiri Regency and it is accessible either by a private or public transportation. The good thing is visitors may find a parking area in that area, so they can park the vehicle easily before trekking to the waterfall. While walking to the site, they may see beautiful views of local farms and lush trees as well. Not to mention the songs of birds accompany them during the adventure. Once they hear the sound of gurgling water, they are quite close to the waterfall without a doubt.

The fact is tourists may encounter Binangun Waterfall first before arriving at Watu Jadah Waterfall. This one features 3 small ponds with refreshing water, so tourists should not miss the opportunity of playing water or taking a bath in those ponds. After that, they can get to the main destination which is Watu Jadah Waterfall. It only takes about 20 minutes of walking from that spot, after all.

Once arriving at Watu Jadah Waterfall, tourists may be astonished by the size. The waterfall has the height of 40 meters and it consists of 3 water discharges. Still, the most interesting feature is definitely the formation of rocks and stones in that area. Thus, everyone should take their camera and collect some good photos during the visit later.
