Laut Island

Laut island is an island and sub-district in Natuna regency, Riau Archipelago. This regency is an outer regency in Natuna islands that was build since June 15, 2004.

Laut island is consists of some large and small islands. The total number of the islands are 8 (eight), where only 2 (two) islands are inhabited. The land surface on the island is mostly gently sloping land / lowland and partly is in the form of hilly forests and others are used as agricultural land and plantation. The coastal vegetation on the land is still in good condition, the typical plants that were encountered are palm trees, and there are parts of the beach is overgrown with mangrove vegetation, which is quite dense from Avicenia type.
