The spectacular Jember Fashion Carnaval (JFC) will again be the center of attention this year when launching carpets in the charming city of Jember in East Java Province, from July 30 to August 3, 2019.
The Jember Carnival is the first to embark on a trend in Indonesia, exhibiting extraordinary spectacular modern costumes rooted in various traditions and cultures throughout the Indonesian island.
In general, Jember Fashion Carnaval uses world-themed clothing or nature-inspired themes. Preparations were held extensively several months before and participants volunteered for the event.
The idea for Jember Fashion Carnaval was realized by the designer and instructor of local fashion Dynand Fariz. Initially, the world-themed fashion week known as Dynand Fariz Fashion Week was held in 2001. In 2002, fashion week was held around the city of Jember. This has inspired the creation of Jember Fashion Carnaval. The first JFC was held on January 1, 2003, the same date as the day of the establishment of Jember City. This was followed by another Jember Fashion Carnaval in August 2003. Since then the carnival was held in August.
