<p><em><strong>Cakalele Dance</strong></em></p>
<p>Cakalele is a Moluccan traditional dance that is played by about 30 men and women. This dance is occasionally performed to welcome the guest of honor that come to Maluku. Other said that, this dance is performed during the offspring to the ancestors. Mollucans&#8217; ancestors were great sailor man. At that time, before went to the ocean, the Mollucan sailor were party and dancing Cakalele. Hence, the custom is still be celebrate until present day, to honor the ancestors.</p>
<p>Cakalele&#8217;s male dancers wore the armor that is dominated by red and yellow colors. On either hand the dancers are holding a sword weapon (machete) on the right side and a shield (salawaku) on the left side. They also wearing a hat made ??of aluminum stuffed and it decorated by white chicken feathers.</p>
<p>Meanwhile, the female dancers are dressed in white traditional clothes, while holding handkerchiefs (Lenso) in both hands. The dancers are in paired and it accompaniment by traditional drum, flute, and large mussels (bia) that blown.</p>
<p>The specialty of this dance lies in three function symbols.<br />
Red clothes male dancer costume, is symbolizing a sense of heroism on Moluccas, and the courage and patriotism of the Moluccan in the face of war.</p>
<p>The sword in the right hand is symbolizes the dignity of the Moluccans that should be maintained until death.</p>
<p>The shield (salawaku) and shouts loudly during the dance is symbolize the protest movement against the system of government which is considered impartially to the community.</p>

<p>This dance is commonly presented in groups during some occasions or party, like wedding party, harvest time, new year, Christmas and many more.</p>
<p>The most interesting from this dance is, the participants who are still single, can search for mate during the party by performing this dance.</p>

<p><em><strong>Tari Kipas</strong></em></p>
<p>Tari Kipas or Fan dance is a dance that originating from Gowa society, South Sulawesi. Some people recognize this dance as Kipas Pakarena dance that means Playing. This traditional dance was attach since the existence of Gowa Kindom at ancient time.</p>
<p>It said that Kipas Pakarena is telling about the farewell of Boting Langi people (heaven) and Lino people (earth). The movements in this dance is characterize the delicate Gowa Women who faithful, behave, obey and respect to husband. This dance is consist of 12 parts in every movements, which is not easy to differentiate. East move in this dance is having different meaning, like sitting, spining, flattering and so on.</p>
<p>Kipas Pakarena has unique rule, where the dancers are not allowed to open their eyes very wide, while the movement of the legs should not be raised too high. This dance is usually lasts for about two hours, so the dancers are required to have excellent physical condition to perform this dance.</p>

<p>Dinggu Traditional Dance</p>
<p>Dingu dance is a traditional dance from Southeast Sulawesi, precisely originating coming from Tolaki tribe. According to Tolaki folklore, the rice seed is coming from the decease of seventh angel that coming to Earth. Hence, after the harvest time, they held a thanksgiving celebration to God that celebrated by the local people.</p>
<p>In order to gain more rice, Tolaki people are held Modinggu ceremony. Modinggu ceremony is a mass working to plant rice seed in the field that did by the Tolaki&#8217;s teenagers at dawn till night. Therefore, the Dinggu dance was created during Midinggu celebration. </p>

<p>Polopalo is a traditional dance from Gorontalo, that becomes a folk dance among the teenagers.<br />
There are two types of Polapalo dance; the first one was the oldest one and the modern one. The old Polapalo was played by single dancer or solo, while Polopalo today is played in groups and using new compose and arrangement.</p>
<p>The old Polopalo was played by hitting the instrument to the tools and to the knee regularly, while today&#8217;s Polopalo is played by hitting the instrument the tools only. Nevertheless, the technique of playing today&#8217;s polopalo is way to sophisticated and it needs well rhyme and good music to adjust the composition and arrangement from its instrument.</p>

This dance is also representing the gentle movements of a girl that flick like the move of paddy in the field.</p>
<p>This dance is presented by Dayak women that wearing Dayak Kenyah&#8217;s traditional clothes. The dancers are also use a huge Enggang bird&#8217;s feather tail on their hands and that makes this dance becomes do particular and unique at the same time.</p>

<p><strong><em>Radap Rahayu Dance</em></strong></p>
<p>Radap Rahayu traditional dance is the original dance from South Kalimantan. This dance is telling about the angels that falling from the sky and brought the wisdom of goodness for the people on Earth. Hence, this traditional dance is having purpose to be the thanksgiving and prayer, in order to make everything done well.</p>
<p>Nowadays, this classic Banjar&#8217;s dance is used to welcome the guest of honor that presented in wedding ceremony. The dancers are exclusively brought by women dancers. The numbers of the dancers are about in odd numbers like 3,5,7 and so on. The dancers are wearing traditional cloths that symbolized particular function. The cloth is called as Baju Layang, and the hair accessory is called Kembang Bogam strands. While the scarf is symbolized the angel&#8217;s wing, while Cupu is the place of yellow rice and potpourri. The cupu jar is located on the left hand of the dancers and it is used to give bless.</p>
<p>After the vanish of Dwipa Kingdom, the existence of Radap Rahayu dance was disappear in times. Fortunately, after the struggle of National independence the artist named Kiayi Amir Hasan, in 1955 re-popularize the dance into the society. Radap Rahayu is now becomes the welcome dance in every ceremonial occasions in Banjar society.</p>

<p>Baksa Kembang dance is a typical of classic dance that originating coming from Banjar Palace, South Kalimantan. In the past, this dance was performed by the royal princesses, but today, everyone in Banjar can perform this ancient dance.</p>
<p>Baksa Kembang dance was having purpose to be the entertainment show for royal family and to be the welcome dance for the guest of honor like other king and princes. Today, this dance is being held to welcome the state officers or ministries at national day celebrations.</p>
<p>Moreover, this Beksa Kembang dance is also perform at the wedding ceremony or other celebration in Banjar communities. This dance is having properties like a pair of Bogam flower, that consist of a bouquet of roses, jasmine, cempaka and cananga. Those Bogam flowers will be presented to the guest of honor after the dance performed.</p>
<p>Baksa Kembang dance is always performed in odd numbers like 3, 5, 7 and so on, and this dance is followed by traditional instrument of drum and Gamelan. There are some version in Baksa Kembang, like Tapung Tali, Jumanang or Lagureh. This is happened because of on each branch is having typical characteristic that differ from others.</p>
