The East Java’s Calendar of Events 2012 contains the schedule of some traditional ceremonies, traditions, festivals and performances which held in the cities and the regencies in East Java. It is designed to promote and to publicize the tourism agenda in the whole area in East Java.
It is important to inform that the local communities usually determine the schedules of the ceremonial events by using the calendars of Javanese, Moslem, and Hindu Tenggerese. Therefore, to assure the exact date of the events, it is advisable to confirm the local Government Tourist Offices.

GRESIK ANNIVERSARY
At this moment, there will be celebration for Gresik anniversary and to commemorate the inauguration of Sunan Giri became Prabu Satmoto. Gresik Anniversary is always held every March 9 and followed by activities like social gathering, hiking, trekking, cultural parade and entertainment for people.

VILLAGE TRADITIONAL CEREMONIES (NYANGGRING)
Nyanggring traditional ceremony is a ritual ceremony conducted by the villager od Tleman District Ngimbang annualy on 25-26 Jumadil Awal [Javanese calender] as an expression of gratitude to Almighty God for the blessings on crops. Moreover, all the preparation for this celebration is held by men.

KEDIRI ANNIVERSARY
This annual event is held to celebrate the anniversary day of Kediri. The event activities is include of  performances by the Regional Arts of Legend Folklore that played in the form of wayang or puppet show at all night long.

The Death Annicersary of KH. ABDUL HAMID
KH. Abdul Hamid is a charismatic religious scholars and leaders on East Java, he was the founder of “Salafiah” boarding school, one of popular Islamic boarding school in Pasuruan.
He died on 9 Rabbiul Awal, where always been commemorated the day by praying together. The celebration will always been attended by thousand of Moslem from outside area of the province and from local people of Pasuruan. The activities are include of the reading of Koran, Hadrah and more.

THE ELECTION OF EAST JAVA TOURISM AMBASSADOR / The Election of Raki Raka 2012
In order to enhance professionalism for young achievers in the field of culture and tourism, and to support the East Java Provincial Government, the East Java Department of Culture and Tourism held the election of Raka Raki Tourism Ambassador of East Java, which followed by 38 districts / municipalities in East Java. This activity is having purpose to promote the potential tourism in East Java.

This is one of Hindu followers’ ceremony in order to worship to Sang Hyang Widhi, for abundant blesses. This ceremony will be crowdly attended by Indonesia and Malaysia followers
