Batu Cermin Cave in Labuan Bajo, Flores

Goa Batu Cermin, or Mirror Rock Cave is a cave in a dark rock hill in Labuan Bajo, West Manggarai, Flores, East Nusa Tenggara of Indonesia. The 19-hectare cave, which is about 75 meters high, gives a unique charm with sparkling walls. Goa Batu Cermin is always crowded with many visitors, both domestic and local tourists. Nowadays, the interesting tour of East Nusa Tenggara is starting to become a lively talk among travelers.

This tunnel cave was discovered by an archaeologist in 1951. According to Theodore Verhoven, the inventor of cave stated that Batu Cermin tunnel was originally located under sea but after millions of years the cave was finally lifted to the surface. This cave has walls that contain a lot of salt so that it can reflect sunlight.

Since its discovery, this tunnel attracted many visitors. These tourists are curious about the unique phenomenon of a mirror that can reflect light. During the day, visitors who come quite crowded. This interesting sight can be enjoyed more or less as far as 200 m and will be guided by professional guides.
