Raja Lima in Nusa Penida Island, Bali Province


Most tourists perhaps have been aware of the famous Raja Ampat in Papua Province. However, Nusa Penida also has a similar attraction called Raja Lima. The location is in Pejukutan Village and it is located near to Pulau Seribu. Due to the close distance, therefore, tourists are able to enjoy two different vacation spots during the same visit. The site is known for its amazing panorama that combines sea scenery and big chunks of reefs. Thus, most visitors are likely to conduct sightseeing and photography there. The nuance varies depending on where tourists conduct sightseeing. The best one is definitely on the top of the hill. However, it requires a trekking in order to pass through steep and rocky landscapes. The good thing is the effort is quite rewarding. Once arriving at the top of the hill, tourists may see stunning sea scenery along with its majestic coral reefs. The view is indeed similar to that of Papua’s Raja Ampat. Exploring Raja Lima
It takes some efforts to reach the best viewing or photography spot in Raja Lima. Tourists even need to walk on stairs to get there. Due to the narrow route, though, everyone should queue. Later, they even need to take a turn to take photos on the site. From the spot, visitors have the chance to take photos of sea scenery including the formation of small islands ahead. Both the nuance and panorama are similar to that of Raja Ampat! This explains why the site popular among passionate travelers.

The only consideration is related to the stamina. A trekking to Raja Lima takes both stamina and time, after all. Thus, tourists can easily get tired when getting there. For those who don’t carry bottled water or any supply, it is recommended to rest for a while at an available Gubug (traditional gazebo) along the way to the location. At least, they can avoid the heat of the sun for a while before continuing the trip.

The good news is a traditional local eatery is available near to Raja Lima. That means tourists can buy some foods and drinks before continuing their exploration. Thus, all tourists should carry some cash when heading to the site later. The menu is simple, though. These include local fried rice, instant noodles, tea, coffee, etc.

How to Get There
Before heading to Raja Lima at Nusa Penida Island, tourists should reach Bali Island first. For a faster trip, it is recommended to take an airplane. For those coming from Jakarta City, they must take an airplane at Soekarno – Hatta International Airport and head to Ngurah Rai International Airport right away. This flight is considered short, which may take about 1 hour and 40 minutes. After they get to Denpasar City, the next destination is Sanur Port and the best route is By Pass Ngurah Rai Street. This trip takes approximately 31 minutes, as the distance is 17.3. Next, tourists should ride a fast boat and reach Nusa Penida Island. This voyage usually takes around 35 minutes. Later, from Toyapakeh Port, tourists must take Ped – Buyuk Street and head to Raja Lima. This trip may take around 1 hour and 6 minutes, as the distance is 28.4 km.
